Board of Directors
Steve K. Chen has served as the Chairman of our board of directors since March 2007 and previously served as Vice-Chairman of our board of directors from September 2006 to March 2007. Mr. Chen was also a member of the board of directors of GTRAN, Inc. before it became our subsidiary. Mr. Chen has been a principal of TriMax and Companies, LLC and its affiliated companies, engaging in strategic investments and advisory activities since 1994. Before forming TriMax and Companies, Mr. Chen worked as an attorney with the law firms of Simpson Thacher & Bartlett and Shearman & Sterling in their New York and Tokyo offices from 1984 to 1992. Mr. Chen also serves on the boards of a number of technology and industrial companies.
Frank S. Lee has served as our President, CEO and a member of our board of directors since 2006. Dr. Lee has also served as the CEO and a member of the board of directors of our subsidiary, GTRAN, Inc., since 1999 and CEO of our subsidiary, EZconn Corporation, since 2006. Dr. Lee founded GTRAN Inc. in 1999. Prior to GTRAN, Dr. Lee held various positions at Conexant Systems, Inc., a company that provides semiconductor solutions for broadband communications and the digital home, from 1991 to 1999. Before that time, Dr. Lee was Vice President of Product Development at Gigabit Logic, Inc., a high-performance gallium arsenide IC startup company, from 1982 to 1991. The company was merged with Triquent Inc. in 1991.
Chih-Cheng Chien joined our board of directors in September 2006. He served as our head of sales and various positions for EZconn until September 2007. Mr. Chien currently serves as chairman of the board of directors for Infomax Optical Technology Corporation, a manufacturer of fiber optic communications products and Optoway Technology Inc., a manufacturer of optical active components and modules.
Yuan-I (Henry) Ko joined our board of directors in September 2006. Mr. Ko is a Senior Advisor at Ernst & Young Taiwan and served on the board of directors for Ernst & Young International from 1997 to 2000. Mr. Ko established Diwan Accounting Firm in 1971, which merged with Arthur Young in 1986. Mr. Ko retired from his position as chairman of the board of directors of Diwan, Ernst & Young and Diwan Management Consulting in 1995. Mr. Ko serves as supervisor on the board of directors of Tung Ho Steel Enterprise Corporation, a major Taiwan steel manufacturer, and First-Aviva Life Insurance Co., Ltd.
Cheng-Sun Lan joined our board of directors in September 2006 and served as the Chairman of our board of directors until March 2007. Mr. Lan served as Chairman of EZconn from 1971 through April 2007 and in various positions at EZconn from 1971 through September 2007, including head of new product development. Mr. Lan also serves on the board of directors of Optoway Technology Inc., a manufacturer of optical active components and modules, and Kopek Pacific Ltd., a computer peripherals exporter.
Chia-Yu Liu joined our board of directors in September 2006. Mr. Liu has served as the General Manager of Braintek Ind. Co., Ltd., an optical fiber accessories trading company, since 1987. Mr. Liu also serves on the board of directors of Yufo Electronics Co., Ltd., a Taiwan publicly listed company manufacturing printed circuit boards.
Sheng-Li Pan joined our board of directors in September 2006 .Mr. Pan is also the chairman of the board of directors of our subsidiary, Light Master Technology (Ningbo) Inc., and served as head of Ningbo operations from June 2006 to September 2007. Mr. Pan previously held various positions at EZconn since 1971, including Vice President of Manufacturing. Mr. Pan also serves as an advisor to I-Chuan Precision Industry Co., Ltd., a public company specializing in lead frames for visible LED, back-lighting, and infrared products, and Kopek Pacific Ltd., a computer peripherals exporter. He also serves as a member of the board of directors for Taiwan Power Technologies, specializing in metal injection molding.
Raj Parekh joined our board of directors in September 2006. He has been a managing member of the partnership that manages Redwood Ventures since 1997. Mr. Parekh also serves on the board of directors of GTRAN, Nazomi Communications, Inc., a multimedia IP company, and Pranalytica, Inc., a laser based trace gas measurement. |
